Axle produced a series of workshops and co-design sessions deployed through a multi-day retreat to support defining and alignment on data equity strategy.

Instructional design components included sessions on collaboration structures with program partners, co-design 'pods' to identify equity intersections within assigned portfolios, a historical analysis on demography across the Latin American portfolio and the impact of culture, colonialism and narrative framing on marginalized groups across Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile and Argentina. In addition, Axle facilitators led teams through a deep dive into equity in open data collection, analysis, and visualization. As a team is only as impactful as the leadership that guides it, the strategy retreat began and concluded with facilitated dialogue across leadership to grapple with the question, "how do we team?" Insights were used to formalize the research and coaching strategy and identity metrics for the now-adopted Standard of Living Explorer.
